Flying Spirits
The ‘Flying Spirits’ are a real all-star band: with Mathias Haus, who recently thrilled the sold-out Tonhalle with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, Markus Wienstroer as one of the most booked German guitarists (Westernhagen, Mahn, etc), Falk Grieffenhagen (with ‘Kraftwerk’ since 2013), Stefan Rademacher (Billy Cobham Band, Chaka Khan, etc) and Ralf Gessler (winner of the New German Jazz Prize), the press says they have brought together ‘masters of their trade. ...a somnambulistically confident interaction.... a soloist line-up that arouses curiosity’ (WZ).

Lovebird Festival
Various music genres are presented and other art forms are integrated. Jazz is at the heart of the program, but it does not dominate; instead, it serves as the foundation for a wide range of new sonic combinations: jazz and hip-hop, jazz and electronic music, as well as indie, funk, and soul. The aim is to create a festival from an expanded musical offering and additional creative spaces that functions as a harmonious Gesamtkunstwerk, encouraging participation, listening, observing, and reflection. In short: a festival for the senses. The non-music program includes: a film screening at the Cinema arthouse cinema, a karaoke talk with Musikalisches Poesiealbum, a panel discussion, and a music and bird-themed city tour.
