The West London duo Kessoncoda consists of drummer Tom Sunney and keyboardist Filip Sowa. Standing firmly between acoustic tradition and electronica, Kessoncoda is founded on a unique blend of melodic, ostinato piano and unwavering drums. Filip and Tom draw on their diverse musical interests and are influenced by rock, electronica, ambient, breakbeat and soundtracks for films and artists such as Squarepusher, Radiohead and Clark. They develop a new vision of jazz that is revolutionised by lulling dance music and electronica in their tracks. Kessoncoda's debut album ‘Outerstate’ will be released on 12 July 2024 via Gondwana Records.

Lovebird Festival

Various music genres are presented and other art forms are integrated. Jazz is at the heart of the program, but it does not dominate; instead, it serves as the foundation for a wide range of new sonic combinations: jazz and hip-hop, jazz and electronic music, as well as indie, funk, and soul. The aim is to create a festival from an expanded musical offering and additional creative spaces that functions as a harmonious Gesamtkunstwerk, encouraging participation, listening, observing, and reflection. In short: a festival for the senses. The non-music program includes: a film screening at the Cinema arthouse cinema, a karaoke talk with Musikalisches Poesiealbum, a panel discussion, and a music and bird-themed city tour.
