lunatic Festival 2024
Since exactly 20 years (we're celebrating our birthday!), the lunatic Festival has stood for continuity, while reinventing itself in every edition. The student-organized music, art and culture festival places great emphasis on diversity, fairness, inclusion and sustainability, which will be practiced not only within the team but also on the festival grounds.
The team, which changes every year, continually brings new approaches and ideas into the planning of the non-profit festival, building on the experiences and findings of previous years. The innovative power of the volunteer-organized festival is also clear in the reception of the festival: in 2021 and 2022, Helga Festival Awards were won for the most flexible way of thinking and the finest booking.
The non-profit lunatic e.V.(opens in a new tab) is behind the lunatic Festival. The association is the basic framework for long-term and sustainable structures and is committed to an approach that sees holistic inclusion, diversity and sustainability in all areas as a prerequisite. In addition, the lunatic e.V. brings together former members of the festival organization with the Altlunauts, who are increasing in number every year, thus forming a large network of know-how and skill sharing.
For lunatic 2024, we are working as usual with a comprehensive awareness concept and a code of conduct. This defines how we interact and communicate with each other during the festival. As an entire festival, we actively oppose all forms of discrimination, cissexism and racism and would like to offer a space for open, respectful and mindful interaction with one another. We want all of our visitors to feel comfortable. We see awareness structures in particular as an important aspect here. By this we mean a sensitive approach to individual limits and needs, as well as sensitivity and attention to social problems and discrimination. We have a zero tolerance policy for all types of discrimination, attacks and border crossings (each person defines this for themselves). We reserve the right to exclude people from our event and/or draw other consequences for violations.
As visitors, service providers and organizers, we want to take responsibility together to create a non-discriminatory, empowering space in which everyone can feel comfortable, support each other and show solidarity with one another.
More on this will follow shortly on our website(opens in a new tab).
As usual, there are unavoidable fees when selling tickets online. We have again consciously decided not to hide these in the ticket price without comment, in order to be as open as possible with you and the use of your money.
So €0.95 and 5.5% are added to the shopping cart. These amounts go towards the sustainable ticketing of our friends at Höme(opens in a new tab), which covers the costs of this barrier-free ticket system and all applicable payment fees. On the other hand, Höme has been committed to supporting the festival and cultural industry, as well as a more sustainable and socially just society, in various ways for many years. Through our collaboration, we (and you!) ensure that the ticket fees do not end up unused in the increasingly full pockets of the well-known ticket giants, but also actively contribute to positive change in the interests of economic sustainability. If you would like to know more about it, you can find more information here: https://hoemepage.com/engagement/(opens in a new tab)
We are aware that the ticket prices are not affordable for everyone, but we still want as many people as possible to take part in our festival. For those of you who cannot afford the full ticket price, there is the option of a solidarity discount. Simply write an email to [email protected] (proof is not required - we trust that the good nature of others will not be taken advantage of).
The availability of the discounts depends on the solidarity contributions paid, which people can voluntarily contribute when purchasing tickets.
We will pass on contributions that have not been used at the end of the festival to our long-time friends at Viva con Agua(opens in a new tab).
