TILAR are a fresh voice in the funk and dance scene, inviting audiences on an energetic journey into their glittering parallel universe. Dressed in silver space suits, the eight-piece band blends traditional funk with modern pop in a highly engaging live show. Driving grooves, powerful horn sections and the clear voice of lead singer Clara create a sound that ignites instantly. With their debut album Over The Moon (2022) and viral success on TikTok, TILAR gained international attention. Awarded first place at the Sparda Jazz Award (2020), the band stands for funk with a future — danceable, euphoric and full of energy. Lovebird Festival
Various music genres are presented and other art forms are integrated. Jazz is at the heart of the program, but it does not dominate; instead, it serves as the foundation for a wide range of new sonic combinations: jazz and hip-hop, jazz and electronic music, as well as indie, funk, and soul. The aim is to create a festival from an expanded musical offering and additional creative spaces that functions as a harmonious Gesamtkunstwerk, encouraging participation, listening, observing, and reflection. In short: a festival for the senses. The non-music program includes: a film screening at the Cinema arthouse cinema, a karaoke talk with Musikalisches Poesiealbum, a panel discussion, and a music and bird-themed city tour.
