Media Critical and Literacy Workshop with Aroh Akunth
The workshop will be hold in English
The workshop invites participants to reflect on their relationship with media: how one comes to be “informed” by media, how to keep up with and organise this information, think through where and how media is generated. And more importantly, how can we use media for socio-political action?
During the workshop, participants will work through case studies that address one or a combination of these questions in groups.
Content Warnings: The workshop will include discussions of human rights abuses and other forms of violence and suffering that may be distressing for some participants. These topics form an important part of the discussion.
Bio: Aroh Akunth is a Dalit-transfeminine interdisciplinary artist interested in writing, research, archiving, embodiment, and curatorial practices. Their work engages with lifeworlds shaped by colonialism, racial and patriarchal violence, and other dehumanising and unequal systems. Some of their public-facing work includes initiating the Dalit Queer Project and the Dalit Art Archive.
The workshop takes place on Fuchsbau Sunday. The entrance to the festival is free of charge on Sunday.
Date
Fuchsbau Festival
Kunst x Musik x Diskurs
